Description
Class size limited to 10 students.
Join me this September 27th-29th to paint Vermont’s landscape! The majority of this class will take place outdoors at the Russell Young Farm near Bristol, VT. As you can see from the pictures, we’ll have an abundance of beautiful and inspiring scenes to paint!
Whether you are a beginner or an experienced oil painter, this farm in the heart of the Green Mountains is the perfect place to dive into plein air painting.
I will begin each day demonstrating my painting process focusing on the two biggest challenges to a successful landscape painting. First, I will show you how I create depth in my paintings. Second, I will teach you how to sculpt the landscape so that the trees seem vertical while the surrounding landscape appears flat.
Following my demonstration, I will give each student individual instruction. This is where I apply the demo and my 15 years of experience with oil painting to your specific challenges and artistic journey. Because I want to provide more value and spend as much time with each student as possible, I have limited the class size to 10 students.
We will paint three different paintings: a vista/distant mountain scene, a tree, and architecture in the landscape. All proficiency levels are welcome.
The class hours are from 10 am to 5 pm, and lunch will be catered each day. Please feel free to get in touch for a list of places to stay. The closest airport is Burlington International Airport––just 45 minutes away.
