How to Paint Glowing Citrus with Adam Clague

Description

In this course, Adam Clague will teach his passion—backlit fruit! He's always had a love for painting the still life. Once he discovered the stunning effects of backlighting on semi-transparent subjects like citrus fruits, he realized he had found an enduring source of inspiration. Backlighting can infuse incredible drama into artwork and is a distinct change from traditional frontal lighting. And the vivid colors of illuminated citrus flesh are a delight to depict!

Through presentations and demonstrations, Adam will impart the vital principles for painting backlit fruit and demonstrate his process from beginning to end. Participants will also understand the principles of composition, empowering them to create their dynamic still life arrangements. Many of the techniques covered in this course can be applied to a plethora of subjects. Adam will also provide feedback on participants' works through group critiques.

• Every Thursday, Adam will host a live demonstration via Zoom. Participants are welcome to paint alongside him! • Each week, attendees will receive a homework assignment tailored to enhance their abilities. • The subsequent Wednesday, they can gain insights from Adam on their artwork during a live group critique via Zoom.
