We’ll complete two finished paintings during our time together, exploring both expansive vistas and intricate details. By the end of the course, you’ll have created a guidebook alongside me—filled with step-by-step instructions, personal notes, and sketches to reference long after the course ends.

          In this session, we’ll build on our base by refining values and adding color, focusing on the interplay of light and shadow on the snow. Learn to convey crispness and harmony as we capture reflected light and depth. Together, we’ll bring this serene winter landscape to life.

          This close-up of snow-covered rocks lets us explore how light and shadow sculpt forms. We’ll focus on layering values to define shapes and adding subtle texture. By the end of this session, your painting will begin to reflect the interplay between crisp snow and the rugged rocks beneath.

          27 Feb

          Session 4: Adding Depth and Detail Live Demo 2 - 5 PM CST

          In this final session, we’ll refine the painting by enhancing depth, adding reflected light, and balancing warm and cool tones. Learn to unify textures and fine-tune details, capturing the intricate harmony of snow, rocks, and water. The result will be a complete, immersive winter scene.
